1st Photo Shoot: Splashes of Color!

Hey Divas!
Well I know it's been a while but I haven't forgotten about you all. I'm happy to say I have a new follower: AdamAlexMommy.com...thank you so much for following! This past weekend I did my first ever professional photo shoot. I've always wanted to do Print Modeling but was a little afraid to get in front of a professional camera. Well, I put those fears aside and went for it! I have to say that I think I did pretty well for this to be my first time. I've included a few body shots and of course head shots. Makeup was done by yours truly of course. Eyeshadows were Nika K. pink&purple and MAC's Fig in the crease. MAC's MSF in DEEP Dark and Ruby Kisses Set'NForget in Banana. Lips were lined with MAC's Nightmoth and lipstick was Ruby Kisses Raisin. NYC's black mascara and LA Colors jumbo Black eyeliner. Although we are in Fall/Winter I decided to go with an outfit that displayed my personality. Special thanks to Soulfully Me Photography! Please check out her page on Facebook. She's up and coming and is about to do BIG things! Hope you guys like it! Be sure to comment and share with your friends. I'll be blogging you soon!

FOTD Traditional Smokey Eye w/Red Lip

Afternoon divas! It's Saturday and such a beautiful day outside. Well, the last few months I have been contemplating on whether I should go natural or go back to getting relaxers and I have yet to decide. For the last 3 months I have been wearing Kinky Twists and I finally took them out to see if my hair grew from my extremely short cut and to see whether or not I'd be able to handle being natural. So...this morning I got up and went to the Dominican salon to see what they could do. I have to admit they did a good job. I got a wash, deep conditioning treatment, trim and blow out all for $50. Not too bad if you ask me. So the results? Well I'll let you be the judge...I'm pleased and that's why I decided to go ahead and post my FOTD. Below are the products I used:

Eyes: Nicka K Silver HD Eyeshadow and MAC's Black Tied, L.A. Colors black eyeliner, NYC's Sky Rise mascara and a black liquid liner from the beauty supply store

Face: MAC's Mineralized SPF15 Foundation in NW50, MAC's MSF in Deep Dark and Ruby Kisses Setn'Forget in Banana

Lips: MAC's Nightmoth Lipliner & NYX's Chaos Lipstick

Tonight we're celebrating my cousin's bday so I'm sure I'll have another look to post. Thanks for all the support and remember to comment and follow...

It's Beginning to feel like Fall

Hey Divas! Well, it's about that time...the weather seems to be changing and it's beginning to feel a lot like Fall! I really love this time of year because it's not too cold and not too warm. I also, like this season because it allows me to wear and try colors that I may not have worn during the Spring & Summer seasons. I plan on buying the Rule eyeshadow by MAC. It's a matte orange color that I think will look nice on my complexion. I also want to incorporate some burnt orange into my wardrobe. I really haven't tried wearing orange too much but that's pretty much going to be my color this Fall. I'm going to see if this is a color I can grow to love. I hope all is well with you guys and I'll be posting more in a few...Smooches&Blessings!

The Hunt for a Great Mascara

Divas!!!! Sorry I've been away but I'm back! The last look I did my
gf told me it was good but I should've added MASCARA to add that POP
to my eyes. I definitely agree with her but I have a hard to wearing
mascara because it feels so dry and heavy. So I decided to solicit
help from YOU divas! Hit me up and tell me which mascaras you use and
like the best. I'll do my best to try all that are suggested and for
the mascara I decide to choose there will be a gift given to that
person as a "thank you". So get the suggestions rolling. I'll also try
to do a few looks of the ones that are in the top running. I pray that
God continues to bless your life as he does mine...smooches & blessings!

Sensational Sunday-FOTD

Hey painted divas! What's the tee on this Sensational Sunday? Well,
today my look was inspired by the weather. Hurricane Irene has left
the city of brotherly love feeling like Fall. Oh, how I love the
season of Fall. I used a Wet'nWild palette that I've had for the
longest but never opened. All the colors are warm and very natural.
There are 6 shades, 3 matte & 3 highly pigmented shimmers. I used the
shimmers :-) I lined my waterline with a liquid black liner and my
actual eyeliner was NYX Dark Brown. For my brows I filled them in with
the NYX Black eyeshadow for more definition. My foundation was MAC's
Mineralize Skinfinish in Deep Dark, MAC's Sweet as Cocoa blush and
MAC's Bronzing Powder in Deeper Bronze. I lined my lips with MAC's
Teddy eyeliner, filled my lips in with NYX's Thalia lipstick and
topped it off witha nude gloss from Dots. Hope you guys like it, I
know I do! It came out prettier than I expected! Be sure to follow and
comment...smooches!!!!

Hurricane Irene

What's the tee divas? Well, here I am at 10:45 pm eastern standard
time watching and listening to Hurricane Irene. We've already lost
power (ugh!) and so my cousin and I are listening to comedy on
Pandora. I must admit this weather reminds me of home (South FL).
Making me a little home sick. The worst of the storm won't hit us til
around 12am so I just pray for God's protection. Alrighty divas I'll
keep ya posted...smooches!

Healthy Skin

Good morning Painted Divas what's the tee? Today is Thursday and I am
so thankful! Before I move forward I just want to Thank God for being
a part of my life and helping me to grow into a better person each and
everyday. Now, let's talk Healthy Skin. If you're the type of person
who uses makeup on a daily basis you should really have a good
cleansing regimen to ensure that you are completely removing all
makeup and dirt from your face and pores on a regular basis. Also,
ladies I know sometimes when you've had a long night out, you just
wanna go home and get into bed. But, before doing that please make
sure you're removing your makeup. Anywho, my cousin Jas put me on to a
new daily facial cleanser by Aveeno. They are pre-moistened pads,
which are textured on one side and smooth on the other, that will
remove any dirt or makeup from the face and pores. What I like about
these cleansing pads is that you don't have to wet your face prior to
using but you do have to rinse with water to remove the cleanser. They
have a nice and refreshing scent and you can get plenty of lather from
one single pad. I used them for a couple of days and I haven't noticed
any drying out on my skin. I still follow with a toner and moisturizer
because that's my normal routine. We picked these up at Target and
they were around $7 bucks or so...please let me know if anybody
decides to try them and what you think about them. I attached a pic so
you'll know what they look like...smooches!

Nicka K.

What's the Tee Painted Divas??? Yes I know I've been missing again but
I'm back and I'm here to stay! The last time I posted I was talking
about trying the Nicka K. cosmetics I bought and guess what??? I did a
look! Like I mentioned before their eyeshadows don't have names, only
product numbers. Really I was only experimenting but the look came out
pretty good! I think I'll buy a few other colors and see if they're
something I'd like to add to my make-up collection. Below are a few
photos...please critique, comment and of course follow ME lol! I'll
add the product info later today. Hope you all have a blessed
Wednesday...Smooches!

Busy, Busy Bee!!!!!!

What's the Tee Painted Divas? It's been a long time since my last post I know! I've been so busy with my job and now I'm helping out a really good friend with her Party Planning business, it's just been a lot. Also, I'm working on getting an iPad or iPad2 so that I'm able to post and upload on the go! Right now I'm writing this post from my iPhone as I take the El train to work, lol. I have bought some products by Nicka K., which I really do like. If anybody knows me they know I'm really in to lip gloss more than lipstick but I gotta say I am loving their lipsticks! And...I bought a few eyeshadows as well just to see if I'd like them and I have to say I do! I wore the purple shadow for a night out on the town and the eyeshadow never faded and they are highly pigmented. I think I'll be able to post a pic of the shadows from my phone. Well, I'm about to get off and head to work so you divas have a blessed day...Smooches!

My First Post

Hey Painted Divas!
First let me wish you all a Happy July 4th!!!!! Whew... I've been on here like all dag on day! All in all I'm proud of myself. I still have a lot of work to do to make this blog how I really envisioned but I like what I came up with for now. I also uploaded a few looks for you guys to look at. Please comment and make suggestions. Like I said I'm not a professional MUA but I do want to master the craft and artistry so that I can become one. Anyway, today for me was cool. I chilled with the fam and had the best cookout food ever! I'm a fatty patty, lol so I get excited about food! We had Filet Mignon wrapped in bacon, crab legs, grilled jumbo shrimp, baked potatoes, sweet potatoes, fresh garden salad, deviled eggs, homemade sangria and fresh baked french bread. Man, oh man it was good! I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday and I'll holla back soon...Smooches!
